Over the last years, contextflow has built a reputation for quality and efficiency in AI-driven lung cancer detection and the team has consistently demonstrated the scientific excellence, adaptability, and drive required to build a category-leading radiology company from lab to scaleup. With this acquisition, the Melbourne-based medtech giant 4DMedical will bring contextflow’s technologies to radiology and respiratory care in the US and Australia, while accelerating its global expansion into Europe.

The transaction provides contextflow with the opportunity to scale its AI-powered lung imaging solutions through 4DMedical’s global commercial platform, significantly expanding the reach of its technology across North America, Europe and Australia. At the same time, contextflow provides 4DMedical with an immediate, on-the-ground European commercial presence, accelerating its international growth strategy.

Integrating AI and Functional Lung Imaging 

While the transaction is strategically focused on geographic expansion, it also enhances 4DMedical’s technology platform. 

contextflow’s AI-based detection and workflow tools, particularly in lung cancer screening, complement 4DMedical’s functional imaging capabilities, which enable quantitative assessment of ventilation, perfusion and lung mechanics. Together, the combined portfolio supports a more complete clinical pathway: 

• Detection and triage of lung abnormalities
• Diagnostic assessment using functional imaging
• Monitoring and disease progression tracking 

This integrated offering positions the combined company as a differentiated provider of both structural and functional lung insights for radiology and respiratory care.

Strategic European Market Entry 

Europe represents a critical growth market for advanced imaging, lung cancer screening and AIenabled clinical decision support. Through the acquisition of contextflow, 4DMedical gains:
